"Visiting YSP meant I could familiarise myself with the Sculptures, branding, cliental and products sold in gift shops and in cafeterias. It struck me that families are clearly drawn to the park which I am using as my target audience for the Food Packaging I created. After my visit my research was focused on Artist who have collaborated with YSP and featured in the park itself, like Rachel Kneebone and Rob Ryan. Then looking into Design Agencies who are known for their food packaging and packaging trends and innovations."
What struck me from my visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture park was the diversity of people walking, admiring and eating. From young to old, Men to Women and Dogs to Cats. Some wanting a simple, hearty lunch (that's always a pleaser) and some seeking a more gourmet, luxury option. Inspired by the traffic light system on food packaging, I created a patterned system that became more complex as the contents got more adventurous (examples shown above).
