Hockley, Nottingham was voted one of the 12 coolest post codes to move to in the UK. With its rich history in lace production and preserved Victorian buildings, it has now become a cultural centre of Nottingham. Home to independent Bars, Cafés and shops this quirky corner of the city- with incredible Street Art- is a must visit. This book uses the streets of Hockley for a different kind of Art.
Data was the focus of this brief and as a Graphic Designer I think there is too much emphasis on making clinically clean and crisp designs made purely from a screen. With this project I decided to collect data with rubbings from the streets. I love using texture and finding beautiful things in ordinary places.
